About the event
Join CHS for a lovely ride through Bull Run Regional Park. If Mother Nature cooperates, you will see carpets of Bluebells and Spring Beauties at their peak. If you have never done this ride, the natural beauty will impress you. Be sure to bring your cameras. Children are welcome, but in consideration of the other riders, they must be accompanied by an adult, be on their own mounts, wear helmets, and must be able to control their horses. For insurance purposes, leave dogs at home and no ponying horses/ponies. CHS members are free using the free ticket selection below. Non-members are asked to pay $5 for the guided ride.
Riders will meet in the soccer field parking lot (immediate left after you pass the Gatehouse, follow road until you see brown Soccer Field sign, turn left and drive back to the parking lot). Be ready to ride out at 10:30 a.m. You must show a current negative Coggins, or you will not be able to ride. The ride will last approximately two hours. If enough riders are signed up, we will go out in multiple groups. Remember, this is generally a sightseeing ride; so the pace for all the groups will be leisurely! Bring a bag lunch, and we'll picnic together after the ride.
RSVPs are required in case of cancellation. At this time of year, if the trails are really muddy, we will probably cancel! Hard hats and shoes with heels are highly recommended…riders under 18 MUST wear hard hats.
NOTE: Manure must be removed from the parking lot and taken home
Directions to Bull Run Regional Park: From the East, take I-66 West to Centreville Exit 52 (Route 29 South). Turn right on to Rte 29, drive approximately 2-1/2 miles, turn left onto Bull Run Post Office Road--the name changes to Bull Run Drive after you pass Compton Road. Continue all the way in to the entrance (gatehouse) of the park, take first left immediately past the gatehouse.
From the South, take Rte 29 North. As soon as you see the huge rock quarry on your right, take a right at the next light. You will be on Bull Run Post Office Road. Follow the directions above from there. (Note—this ride is being held at Bull Run Regional Park – NOT Manassas National Battlefield, nor is it at the Special Events Center, but is on the main park property.)
This ticket is for non CHS members to join our trail ride.
This event is free for CHS members but please RSVP here so we know to expect you!
